Intro
Welcome to your new community! Our peer-to-peer commerce app provides a unique platform for you to buy, sell, and auction items within your community. This article will guide you though the process of listing an item for sale, and introduce you to our item listing user interface.
Choosing the Type of Listing
Our app offers three types of listings: Auction, Shop, and Live Market Event.
1. Auction - If you want to create some excitement around your items, choose the Auction option. This allows members to bid on your item
2. Shop - If you prefer to sell your item at a fixed price, select the Shop option. Your item will be listed in the Shop section for members to purchase. There are additional settings for configuring price ranges so that you can barter if someone isn't willing to pay your asking price (more on this in the Other Fields section).
3. Live Market Event - A unique feature of our app, the Live Market Event, allows you to list your item for a set period of time. This is similar to a shop listing, but the item will only be listed for the duration of the Live Market Event.
Understanding the Listing Interface
When you're ready to list an item for sale, our user-friendly interface will guide you through the process. The item listing interface consists of a form with the following fields:
- What are you selling? - Here, you provide a name and description for the item you're selling. Make sure to be as descriptive as possible to attract potential buyers.
- Shipping Fee - If you're planning to ship the item, you can indicate the cost here. If buyers are expected to pick up items, we have a beta Local Pickup feature that you can enable for your community by contacting support.
- Images - Upload clear photos of the item you're selling. This helps buyers understand the condition and look of the item.
- Additional Shipping Details - If necessary, we have additional fields for shipping. These include settings for allowing alternative fees for combined shipment, international shipping, estimated handling days, and accepting returns.
- Additional Item Details - Here you can find additional fields for sharing SKU (stock keeping unit) numbers, tax amount, and tax state.
- Other Fields - Depending on the item, there might be additional fields to complete. These fields are listed in the next section.
Other Fields
Depending on the item, there might be additional fields to complete.
-
Auction Specific Fields
- Starting Price - This is where the bidding will begin on your items. Bids cannot be below this amount.
-
Shop/Live Market Specific Fields
- Asking Price - This is amount that your item will automatically sell for. Any offer below this price will have to be approved by you.
- Quantity - The quantity of the item that you're selling. If someone buys an item and there is still stock available, your item will remain the shop.
- Listing Duration - How long your item will be available for. At the end of this period, your item will be removed from the shop and return to your drafted items.
- Category - If your community has item categories, you can choose the category here.
- Automatically Reviewing Offers - These optional fields will allow you to automatically accept or decline offers. Simply add numbers here to define the accept and decline cut-offs, and the app will do the rest.
-
Shop Only Fields
- Listing Duration - How long your item will be available for. At the end of this period, your item will be removed from the shop and return to your drafted items.
Drafting and Submitting Your Item
When you've completed the form, your item will be saved as a draft. You can manage your list of drafted items to review, edit, and formally submit them for listing. This gives you the opportunity to double-check all details before making the item visible to the community. For shop items, you'll also find options here to create a post in the main chat when your item is listed, and to send community members a notification.
Moderator Approval for Auctions and Live Market Events
It's important to note that items submitted for Auction or Live Market Events require approval by a moderator. Once approved, the moderator will enter your item(s) into the event. This ensures that all events meet the community's standards and guidelines.
We hope that this guide has made it easier to understand how to list items in our app. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to our support team. Happy selling!
